Trebbiano Abruzzese Grape

The Trebbiano Abruzzese white grape variety is grown in the Abruzzo region .
Trebbiano Abruzzese is a vine that belongs to the great Trebbiani family and is very similar to Biancame a biotype of Trebbiano Toscano, one of the most cultivated white grape varieties in central Italy (Emilia-Romagna, Marche, Lazio and Abruzzo).
The vines of the Trebbiani family have been known in Italy since Roman times. Their name derives from “Trebula”, that is farm. Pliny the elder describes a “Vinum Trebulanum”, which according to this interpretation, would stand for “country wine”, or “homemade wine”.

Characteristics of the wine

From the Trebbiano Abruzzese grape we obtain a wine with a straw yellow color, light on the nose with fruity and floral aromas, notes of apple and chamomile, often accompanied by mineral hints of flint and graphite. On the palate it is dry, soft, harmonious with a slightly almond aftertaste.
