Malvasia Bianca Grape

The white Malvasia Bianca grape is grown in the regions of Apulia, Calabria, Campania and Sicily.
Malvasia Bianca is an aromatic grape belonging to a large family of Malvasia vines, most of which are white berried, geographically distributed throughout Italy. Although of different origins, all these vines share some basic characteristics: in fact they all have, even if with different degrees of intensity, a spicy fragrance of musk and apricot, with rather high sugar residues. These characteristics make the grape varieties of the Malvasie group particularly suitable for the production of sparkling wines and passito wines.

Characteristics of the wine

From the Malvasia Bianca grape a wine with a straw yellow color with more or less intense golden shades is obtained. The nose perceives fresh flowers and fruity hints with notes of almond, hazelnut and apricot. Generally they tend to have a good alcohol content, which if too evident tends to overwhelm the other taste-olfactory sensations.
