Carricante Grape

The Carricante white grape is grown in the region of Sicily.
Carricante is a Sicilian indigenous grape variety that probably takes its name from its abundant productivity. It is mostly used in blends with Catarratto, Ansonica (or Inzolia), Minnella, and with red grapes including Nerello Mascalese, giving the wines sensations of finesse and softness.
From the Carricante vine vinified in purity, a particularly fine wine is obtained, straw yellow in color with greenish reflections. The wine has a good aromatic outfit with herbaceous, fragrant and floral hints. It has a good gustatory structure, is warm, savory and characterized by a high fixed acidity which makes it particularly suitable for aging in wood and for preservation over time.
